Salzburg Festival

Willkommen in Salzburg

Salzburg Festival

Since 1920, the Salzburg Festival has been one of the city's cultural highlights every summer. Its predecessors were the “International Music Festival in Salzburg”, which has been held at irregular intervals since 1877. The performances traditionally include Hugo von Hofmannsthal's morality play Jedermann, whose performance directed by Max Reinhardt on August 22, 1920 on the Domplatz marked the birth of the festival. Since then, the festival for opera, drama and concerts has established itself as one of the world's most important and top-class festivals with around 200 events and more than 250,000 visitors every year. Make your visit to the opera an exclusive and unforgettable experience. We will be happy to assist you in planning your individual opera trip.
