Nina Stemme
Swedish soprano Nina Stemme is considered by opera lovers to be one of the greatest Wagner interpreters of our time. Since her opera debut in 1989 as Cherubino in Cortona, Italy, Stemme has performed in many opera houses, including the Vienna State Opera, La Scala in Milan, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, the Royal Opera House in London, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and at the festivals in Bayreuth, Salzburg, Savonlinna, Glyndebourne, and Bregenz. In addition to various awards, Nina Stemme was appointed Swedish Court Singer in 2006 and Austrian Chamber Singer in 2012. Her highly acclaimed performance as Isolde in Christof Loy's production of Tristan und Isolde at the Royal Opera House in London earned her the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Performance in a Leading Role in 2010.
